The Satellite Applications Catapult is one of the UK’s leading independent innovation centres — an organisation working at the frontier of satellite technology and space-based applications, backed by Innovate UK, to drive economic growth across British industry.
With a remit spanning research, commercial partnerships and government collaboration, the Catapult works with some of the most technically complex and commercially significant propositions in the country. When their communications materials need to carry that weight — for investors, industry partners and government stakeholders — the design can’t be an afterthought.
I was commissioned to design a 10-page service brochure showcasing the full spectrum of the Catapult’s technology solutions. The challenge is a familiar one for any advanced technology organisation: making highly complex, world-changing work feel immediately credible, accessible and compelling to a non-specialist audience — without losing the authority and precision that defines it.
The design balanced technical rigour with a clean, modern visual language — structured to guide readers through the Catapult’s capabilities without overwhelming them. Every spread was considered as a communication decision, not just a layout choice.
The finished brochure was delivered print-ready across cover, inner spreads and single-page layouts, to professional print specification.
